Apple released iPhone SE

Meet the iPhone SE, Apple’s bet that less is more.

In 2014, Apple released the iPhone 6–and saw sales skyrocket as customers flocked to the larger 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens. Now the company is going in the opposite direction, announcing a new smaller iPhone on Monday at its ”Let Us Loop You In” event at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, CA.

The new iPhone SE will replace the iPhone 5s as Apple’s low cost option for customers who prefer a smaller pocket-friendly device. The screen measures 4 inches diagonally, a size at which Apple sold 30 million devices in 2015. The iPhone SE also has the same processing power as the iPhone 6s, with the same A9 chip, as well as a 12 megapixel iSight Camera.

“Today we welcome a new member to the iPhone family,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook. “Many customers have asked for this and we think they’re going to love it.”

The new phone will cost $399 for a 16GB model, and $499 for a 64GB version. Installment plans start at $17 per month, and the 16GB iPhone SE could be free for many users on wireless subsidy plans. Orders begin on March 24th, and the phone is available next week.

Apple hopes the new iPhone will inject new life into sales, which have stalled. While Apple posted new records in all categories last quarter, growth was meager. Sales and profit were up less than 2% from the year prior. Apple didn’t even list the number of iPhones sold in its earnings report press release, because a record of 74.8 million doesn’t sound great when it means growth year over year is just 0.4%–the slowest rate since the iPhone was introduced in 2007.

Samsung accepting to pay Apple damages of 548 millions of dollars, after 5 years of lawsuits

Samsung accepting to pay Apple damages of 548 millions of dollars, after 5 years of lawsuits

The South-Korean company confirmed, in a joint statement with Apple, that will make the payment until 14th of December this year, if they will receive an invoice from the manufacturer iPhone before this weekend.

After years of trials and appeals , collection of over half a billion dollars is a significant victory for Apple.

But even if Samsung seems to capitulate , the statement shows that South Korean group continues to retain the right to obtain a refund from Apple, according to The Verge.

iPhone manufacturer sued Samsung for the first time in spring of 2011, in United States.

A year later , the court decision was in favour of Apple, considering that Samsung infringed Apple patents for functions such as tap-to-zoom and multitouch gestures.

Apple demanded compensation of 2.5 billion dollars, but received only entitled to $ 1 billion . After several calls, the amount was reduced to 930 million dollars, and in May 2015 at 548 million dollars.

The press release on Friday, that Samsung reserves the right to demand money back into future processes . Moreover, the Korean company announced this summer that requires the US Supreme Court review of the case.

iPhone 7 Radical Design Changes

03 Dec, 2015
1

iPhone 7 Radical Design Changes

So, we know that a redesign of iPhone 7 is coming. Since the handsets went big with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, it means that the iPhone 7 will see the first major redesign.

A leak tells us that Apple is testing no less than five different iPhone 7 models.

First Design - NO Lightning Port

Apple is ditching the Lightning connector. In its place would be USB Type-C, a standard the company has already backed heavily by making it the only port on its new MacBook.

On the flip side it would also cause chaos for owners of Lightning port accessories and the port itself was only introduced in 2012.

Second Design - Wireless Charging

Another prototype of the iPhone 7 is the wireless charging.

There’s no information on whether this will be compatible with existing wireless charging standards or if Apple has created its own.

We all are in doubts that the company would launch anything if it weren't able to offer similar charge speeds to wired charging (and this is something next generation versions of existing wireless standards are close to achieving).

Third Design - Multi-Touch 3D Touch

Apple is allegedly testing integration of this technology with 3D Touch.

Let's take a minute to think how would that work and how practical it would be.

An example of how will that work, just think of a two finger simultaneous 3D Touch as a back button shortcut or three finger Force Touch to go back to the home screen.

I think everybody is sure that Apple is looking at how to expand 3D Touch functionality, because now it's a big differentiator, but already representing a major change

and requires time to get customers and developers outside. Although, I don't see Apple wanting to risk confusing customers after just one generation.

Fourth Design - Dual Cameras

I'm sure that we all heared the rumours about a dual rear camera technology for the iPhone 6S, but it didn't happened. And now, it is very credible that that will happen for the iPhone 7.

Fifth Design - In-Display Fingerprint Recognition

In-display fingerprint recognition would allow the company to finally ditch the home button and drastically shrink the iPhone’s famously large bezels creating a more pocketable device.

Certainly this would represent the best of both worlds (freeing up front space while keeping the unlock option accessible with the phone on a surface), but whether such technology is ready remains to be seen.

How would this iPhone look like, we will see it in the further future. Meanwhile, enjoy the other iPhones :).

New Samsung Galaxy S7

11 Nov, 2015
0

Samsung Galaxy S7: Information about the phone, release date and price

So what I've heard that is going to be something "fresh in town" and that is the Galaxy S7.

From what i've been reading, it's going to be released in January-February 2016 and its price will be around 599£.

Although, following an announce date in the new year, the trend of previous Galaxy S models suggests we’ll see a February or March 2016 release date.

The price of Galaxy S7 could reasonably rise to around £650, but some people think that Samsung "won't jump so far" so it's probably going to be around the £599.

Features of Galaxy S7:

It looks like Samsung is planning to bring a similar feature as the 3D Touch from iPhone 6S, to its Galaxy S7.

"According to a popular leak account on Chinese social networking site Weibo, Samsung is eyeing up Synaptics’ new ClearForce technology, which uses a comparable force-sensitive technique".

Some other new capability that we may find into this new phone is a patent for a holographic display, first uncovered by Patently Mobile. There is another rumour, that the Galaxy S7 will come with a USB Type-C port. Just like you've seen in Apple's 2015 MacBook.

Not only is USB Type-C reversible, but it can funnel 4K video, data and power all through the same strip.

Design of Galaxy S7:

It looks like the new Galaxy will follow the pattern of the Galaxy S6, and launch with two models. According to SamMobile, these two are being referred to internally as SM-G930 and SM-935.

The two phones will get a different processor. One of these will be a Exynos 8890 and one will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.

Of course, it cannot be confirmed yet, but Samsung is testing variants of its handset with those two chips, according the rumours.

The S7 could also feature a surprisingly sturdy design. Korean site Kbench reports that Samsung has filed a trademark for a new Turtle Glass cover, which is expected to one-up the Gorilla Glass currently protecting Samsung handsets.

It has also been reported by several unnamed insider sources that Samsung is planning to release the Galaxy S7 with a magnesium alloy unibody design. If true, the magnesium alloy would help prevent the new Galaxy from being bent, and would make the handset lighter than the aluminium-clad S6.

Magnesium will also make it easier for heat to escape from the phone body, preventing overheating.

Display of Galaxy S7:

In terms of display, there are rumours that Samsung will take a leaf out of the Galaxy S6 Edge’s book and introduce a curved edge as standard.

It also looks like the S7 will come in two display variants, one with a 5.2in screen and another with a 5.7in screen.

A report from Vietnamese site, SamsungViet, claims that both the 5.2in and 5.7in models are in fact Edge variants of the Samsung S7.

One of these would, presumably, be the Galaxy S7 Edge Plus.

The camera of Galaxy S7:

As everybody knows, the camera is one of the most important elements of a smartphone, and Samsung has traditionally put a great deal of emphasis on its flagships’ snapping credentials.

So, a number of rumours about the potential camera on the new Galaxy S7: The newest phone could feature a 12-megapixel camera with a ½-inch sensor.

Elsewhere, tech informant S Leaks has tweeted that the phone could feature a 20-megapixel camera with RAW image support.

One thing is sure, and that's the fact that Samsung has announced a new camera sensor. And here is our question: could this be part of this new Galaxy?

If so, then the unwieldy camera bulge in the Galaxy S6 could be a thing of the past, as Samsung’s new piece of kit will be the world's first 1.0 micrometre 16MP CMOS image sensor.

The ultra-thin camera module uses Samsung’s ISOCELL technology to receive more light, improving the quality of shots in low-light. The smaller module – measuring only 5mm – would also make the Galaxy S7 thinner than the Galaxy S6.

Korean publications are reporting that Samsung is trying out a dual-camera system for the Galaxy S7, similar to the one found on the HTC One M8.

This setup involves two sets of lenses: one camera to take the main image and a smaller camera to record spatial information.

This lets the phone add dramatic depth-of-field effects to your photos.

The third dimension is proving pretty popular as of late.

Intel’s RealSense cameras are similarly tapping into the possibilities of depth perception, and it may be the case that Samsung want to one-up the iPhone 6s’ 12-megapixel camera with a headline-grabbing new feature.

Processor of Galaxy S7:

According to Tech Times, Samsung is currently testing two variants of the company’s 2016 flagship device – one for western markets running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and one for Asian markets running on Samsung’s own Exynos M1.

South Korea's Electronic Times has offered a slightly different prediction, reporting that Samsung will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor for Galaxy S7s sold in the US and China, and Samsung’s own Exynos chip for Galaxy S7s in other markets.

If these rumours are true, then they suggest that Samsung is going back to Qualcomm after they already took the decision to run with its own Exynos processor in the Galaxy S6.

GSMArena has reported that a Samsung smartphone going by the name “Lucky-LTE” has appeared on the Geekbench benchmark database. This phone is thought to be none other than the Galaxy S7, riffing on the fact that seven is a lucky number in Korea.

The benchmark shows the Lucky being tested with a new Exynos 8890 chipset, and managing to score 1409 for single-core and 4882 for multi-core

That isn’t quite up to scratch with the current Exynos 7420, which tends to manage a score of around 5200 on multi-core, but GSMArena notes that this could be down to a low clock rate of 1.38GHz, compared to the rumoured max of 2.3GHz.

The Lucky device was also caught in a separate benchmark, this time using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC.

In that AnTuTu benchmark, the device in question was recorded as having a 5.7in QHD touchscreen, 16-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Samsung also recently announced mass production of a new 12Gbit LPDDR4 DRAM chips for mobile devices, manufactured on the company’s 20nm process technology.

The 12Gbit chip (equivalent to 1.5GB per chip) offers a much higher density than the 8Gbit chips Samsung is currently using in its smartphones.

This means it will be able to stack four together in a single DRAM package to deliver 6GB in the same space that 3GB currently occupies.

Samsung claims the new modules are 30% faster than current 8Gbit chips, able to run at 4,266Mbits/sec, and that they consume 20% less power.

In fact, it’s just as likely that Samsung will take advantage of the increased density of the new chips to save space rather than specify more memory.

With the new technology, a 3GB RAM package would need only two stacked memory dies, cutting the space needed to hold the chips by half. As well as building a 6GB Galaxy S7, it may be that Samsung are eyeing up a slimmer 3GB flagship, or possibly one with a larger battery.

Battery of Galaxy S7:

What is more important than the battery? You don't want to run out of battery when you need your phone the most, right?

That is the thing that we want the most.

The Galaxy S7 could be getting a five-day battery life, if research by Samsung’s R&D department filters down in time for the new handset.

In June, researchers from Samsung’s Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) discovered a way to extend lithium-ion battery life using graphene and silicon.

While extending battery capacity normally results in a shorter battery life, this new technique reportedly has the potential to increase the energy density of batteries by 1.8x, which would significantly extend the battery life of smartphones.

Whether or not this battery life breakthrough will reach the product stage in time for the Galaxy S7 remains to be seen, but it would certainly give Samsung an advantage over its rivals. Seeing as Samsung has developed this for Samsung products, we may very well see it in time for the next Galaxy handset.

OnePlus X

11 Nov, 2015
0

One Plus X: Information

OnePlus is launching its second smartphone of the year: OnePlus X.

The new phone follows the template of the OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus One before that

You’ll only be able to buy it by invitation - at least during its first month on sale - and in that way, OnePlus has been able to keep the price extremely low.

The cheapest version of the OnePlus X is a mere £199 inc VAT, and if the specifications are anything to go by, invitations will be thin on the ground.

OnePlus X: Design and features

The OnePlus X is a smaller device than the OnePlus 2, with a 5in, 1,080 x 1,920-resolution AMOLED display.

The OnePlus X will be available in two exotic finishes: Onyx, and Ceramic, with the screen at the front topped in Gorilla Glass.

OnePlus said the ceramic backplate of the phone takes a total of 21 days to produce. It’s first fire-baked at almost 1,500˚C for 28 hours, then cooled for two days before being polished and attached to the frame of the phone.

Other significant features include a new 13-megapixel camera - complete with isocell sensor tech, phase detect autofocus and an f/2.2 aperture - while the front-facing camera has an impressively high resolution of eight megapixels.

OnePlus X: Specifications

Powering the phone is the generation-old quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, running at 2.3GHz, and it’s accompanied by 3GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU and 16GB of storage, expandable up to a maximum of 128GB via a microSD slot.

The size of the battery is only 2,525mAh in capacity, which is down by nearly 500mAh on the OnePlus One, and nearly 800mAh on the OnePlus 2.

You cannot say at this stage how good the OnePlus X will be.

Sony Xperia Z5

11 Nov, 2015

Sony Xperia Z5: Information about the phone

Sony’s flagship Xperia range of smartphones has undergone a quick-fire evolution over the past year or two, with the Z2, Z3 and Z3+ all appearing within 18 months of each other.

With such small intervals between each revamp, though, the changes were not that big.

With the Sony Xperia Z5, however, first announced at the IFA trade show in September 2015, Sony’s flagship is finally taking a significant stride forward.

It introduces a refined design, a revamped camera technology and a fingerprint reader.

Sony Xperia Z5: Design

The Xperia Z5 is not that different from its predecessors.

It keeps the trademark Xperia glass-slabbed front and back, squared off profile and slightly curved edges all around.

Unsurprisingly, the Z5 is both water- and dust-resistant and certified to IP65 and IP68, just like the rest of the Xperia range.

The edge of the phone is slightly raised this time, which prevents the phone slipping off inclined surfaces quite as easily as the Z3, and in each of the white, “Graphite Black”, gold and green colour options, it looks very good.

The biggest departure in design terms is the look of the power button.

Sony’s trademark protruding silver circle, which has been around for years, has now been replaced by an elongated lozenge, slightly inset from the edge to prevent you accidentally pressing it.

The button hides one of the Z5’s big new features: a fingerprint reader.

Sony Xperia Z5: Display

Despite the fact that Sony is lavishing a 4K screen on the larger Z5 Premium, the Z5 remains lumbered with a bog-standard 1,080 x 1,920-resolution IPS display, topped with unbranded tempered glass.

When it comes to brightness, the quality is excellent.

Sony Xperia Z5: Camera quality

The new Exmor RS rear camera module bumps up the maximum resolution to 23-megapixels, the sensor size to 1/2.3in, and also incorporates SteadyShot optical image stabilisation (OIS) plus hybrid autofocus by adding phase-detect pixels to the image sensor.

Sony’s sensor has its phase-detect sensors scattered all over the sensor, even into the corners, which means you can tap anywhere on the screen to focus.

The front camera has 5 megapixels.

Primary camera has 23 megapixels.

Sony Xperia Z5: Performance

The fingerprint reader and camera represent big enough improvements to warrant an upgrade from any previous Z-series smartphone, so it’s not a particular surprise to discover that the rest of the Z5’s specifications and features represent a much milder improvement.

Beneath the surface is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chipset, complete with an Adreno 430 graphics chip and a healthy 3GB of RAM.

There’s 32GB of storage available, plus a microSD slot for expansion. This draws the Z5 level with the LG G4 in terms of overall flexibility, even if the battery isn’t user-replaceable.

Sony Xperia Z5: Software

It lives on top of Android 5.1.1 and you’ll either get along with it or not, depending on your personal tastes.

Sony Xperia Z5: Battery life

The Z5 is equipped with a 2,900mAh battery, which Sony claims delivers up to two days of stamina.

Sony’s battery management schemes are pretty good, and contribute to excellent stamina in moderate use.

Apple Upgrades iPhone 6S Before Launch

09 Sep, 2015
0

So what I have found out is that Apple wants to surprise people this week by announcing that the new iPhones will receive the second generation of Force Touch. They will not have a Force Touch like the Apple Watch and MacBook Pro.

Apple will apparently label the technology "3D Touch Display" and the key difference from Force Touch as we know it will be its ability to distinguish three distinct touches, not only two:

1. A standard tap

2. A press

3. A strong press

9to5Mac also claims “The new 3D Touch screen is likely to work in tandem with a new Taptic Engine to provide physical feedback to the user.”

The repercussions of this are significant…

So, there have already been leaks suggesting the Force Touch Support Is In iOS 9, but there is also a line of thought that introducing a second, invisible type of touch could confuse users. The question will be, I guess, how will someone know when to tap something or press it? It risks being a case of trial and error.

Consequently should 9to5Mac be correct and 3D Touch Display introduce a third stronger press as well then things could get even more confusing. The results of a tap, press or strong press could vary wildly from app to app with no obvious ‘rule of thumb’ or on screen indications to what the differences will be.

For example, in photo editing apps tapping a photo would likely open it in all, but a press might save it in one app and delete it in another, while a strong press might delete it in one and save it on another. Apple will have to tread very carefully with developer guidelines.

That said the potential of a 3D Touch Display to revolutionise interaction with iOS is undeniable. It would bring arguably even greater subtleties than we currently have with a mouse on desktop OSes and could have major productivity and gaming benefits.

It would also be a feature Android handset makers would struggle to popularise/copy until Google GOOGL +2.33% added native support (Huawei’s effort seems little more than headline grab) and there is no hint this will appear in the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow release.

As such the field is wide open for Apple to hit a home run with 3D Touch Display, but there is also a sizeable risk that it could prove to be a technology which does more harm than good…

It's ON people !!! Apple launched iPhone 6S and 6S Plus and the iPad Pro which comes with stylus and keyboard !!

Apple just presented today the newest products of the company at a conference which took place in San Francisco.

At the ending of the conference it was confirmed that the smallest version has a capacity of 16 GB, and the price is 199$ for a 2 years contract.

The iPhone 6S 128GB will be 399$ and the beggining price of the iPhone 6S Plus will be 299$. You can preorder starting from 12.09.2015 and the phones will be available in stores from 16th September. In the same day, Apple will launch iOS 9 aswell.

"They are the most avanced iPhones from entire history, we improved everything! Actually, they are the most advanced phones from the entire world!" said Tim Cook, general director of the Apple Company, at the event.

The main change which was brought to the new iPhones is the Force Touch technology, which has the ability to distinguish three distinct touches, not only two:

1. A standard tap

2. A press

3. A strong press

The phone will have a new case, Aluminium 7000, which doesn't bend like the case of the other models and a new photo camera, 12MP. The sensor is RGBW produced by Sony, which will be able to film in 4K.

At this event was also presented the new iPad Pro which is available in 3 different colors, with prices starting from: 799$ for the 32GB version, 949$ for 64GB and 1.079$ for 128GB version. Apple pencil will cost 99$ and the clever keyboard will be 169$.

"We believe that the future of TV's is represented by apps and the future already started" said Tim Cook during the launch of the new Apple TV.

iPhone 6S will have the 3rd generation chip on 64bit, A9, which is 70% faster comparing with A8 on CPU and 90% faster for graphic.

The design of the phone is almost the same with iPhone 6. The case is aluminium Series 7000 from which is made the Apple Watch aswell. The iPhone is available in a new color, rose gold.

Plus, Siri will always be awake for you and its enough to say just "Hey, Siri" and she will answer.

Enjoy!!!
